In addition to our long history working with Leather, we have also been involved in wood preservation for almost a decade. We have worked with the state of Maine and Maryland in the preservation of early American artifacts including a dugout canoe and a large number of Indian stakes found in lakes and ponds throughout Maine. This work has been the impetus for the development of our wood working line of products.

What makes Our Leather Care Products the Best on the Market
We understand that you have many options when it comes to choosing products for your leather care needs. Preservation Solutions offers new age products for old age leather restoration and everyday leather care.
Our leather treatments are made from the finest raw materials available. The oils are first oxidized to eliminate darkening and processed twice to remove any double bonds, which can cause acid deterioration. Our processing gives the oil a hydrogen bond, which prevents it from leaching out or migrating in the leather. The oils are then stratified to remove any remaining natural salts. Finally, we buffer the oils by a special process to insure lasting life and protection to the leather.
The solvents we use do not contain sulphur, which can cause rotting of stitching. The oils are pH balanced.
Our products do not contain glycerin, which can leave the leather sticky and cause mold growth under humid conditions. Nor do they contain sulphated oil which can cause hydrolyzation which causes acid rot.
Each of our products is unique and formulated differently. We do not believe in combining cleaners and conditioners, these are two very different products that are not compatible. When mixing a surfactant with conditioning oils you will get separation making both products ineffective. We also do not believe in offering one product for all leather. Each of our leather conditioners is formulated specifically to treat the many different types and condition of leather.
What makes our leather products the best on the market?
We have over 35 years experience in the tanning and leather chemical business. Our products are made from the finest raw materials available. The oils are first oxidized to eliminate darkening and processed twice to remove any double bonds which can cause acid deterioration, giving the oil an anionic charge which prevents the oil from leaching out or migrating in the leather. This also keeps the oil from washing out if used on garments in the outdoors. They are then stratified to remove any remaining natural salts. Finally, we buffer the oils by a special process to insure lasting life and protection to the leather. The solvents we use do not contain sulphur, which can cause rotting of stitching. Many of the leather conditioners on the market use sulfated oils, which can build acid in the leather, no matter how much they are buffered. Other products are made from neutral oils which leave the leather oily and dark. Our products do not contain any sulphated oils which leave the leather sticky. Although it keeps the leather supple, it retains moisture which can cause hydrolyzation and mold growth under humid conditions.
