A meticulously detailed home designed by the owners in collaboration with architect Jean Steinbrecher. Unique features of this home include vacuum kiln-dried logs that have been hand hewn and well-fitted with dovetail corner notches. The timber frame roof structure is vacuum kiln-dried douglas fir and employs traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery.
Unique has provided vacuum kiln-dried logs and timbers exclusively to their clients for several years. The unique combination of highly skilled craftsmen using very stable log and timber material allows a level of detail and precision of joinery that is unusual in our craft. Unique also offers custom and creative solutions with our in-house design studio, from log and timber shop drawings for every project, to full architectural design for clients who desire it.

The Beach House
Square Footage: 1,300 (approximately)
The Beach House is creatively designed to take advantage of magnificent ocean and mountain views. Guests can relax on the covered patio or deck and enjoy their serene setting. Wonderful elements of this design are its huge sliding doors situated on adjacent walls opening up to the large deck.
This 1,300-square-foot, log post-and-beam structure was designed by architect Jean Steinbrecher and features massive Douglas fir logs that were dried in Unique’s patented, state-of-the-art vacuum kilns. The home was masterfully crafted in the protective environment of one of Unique’s covered buildings.
