President Lloyd Beckedorf founded Moose Mountain Log Homes Inc. in 1978. In more than a quarter century of building, we have specialized in only fully scribed, handcrafted log construction. To date we have not built, nor do we wish to ever build, in the manufactured milled style or the handcrafted chinked style.
With all the styles and producers of log homes, we believe one of our most distinct advantages is that we are so confident in the superiority of our patented system of joinery that we are likely the only company you will find anywhere that guarantees, in writing, the quality of our joinery and logs by warranting they’ll remain air and weathertight as well as structural.
Performance is only half of the picture. Beauty of logs and artistic precision are equally, if not more, important in an exceptional log home. We personally select every log we use. Our massive western red cedar or lodgepole pine logs have some of the most unique characteristics and are probably the largest and slowest growing logs for log construction today.
Moose Mountain Log Homes specializes in the buildings that challenge our decades of experience, whether that be in an intricate design, complex log trussed roof system or a situation unique to only one specific project, no matter where that project is destined to go. Please check out our web site as we have been told it is the most informative and factual on the Internet and includes more than 400 photographs of our work and homes.
Our normal package starts with design involvement and development, insulated log work completely reassembled on the owner’s subfloor by the same craftsmen who actually built it in the first place with log stairs and railings, door and window cutouts, ready for installation, interior partitioning allowances, electrical preparation, through-bolting and ongoing technical assistance, so that no other subtrade needs previous experience with log homes or would be required to alter the log work. Our packages normally also include all log components, transportation and local crane costs.
