Log Home News: Bed & Breakfast at a Handcrafted Log Home 11/08/2007
Maple Island Log Homes to host fall open house event at The Wildberry Lodge, a handcrafted log home Bed & Breakfast

Leicester, NC: Michigan-based, Maple Island Log Homes announces a unique opportunity for the public to tour one of their masterpiece designs, the Wildberry Lodge Bed and Breakfast—situated among the Smoky Mountains of Leicester, North Carolina. On Saturday, November 10th, log cabin aficionados and those interested in building their own custom log home will have occasion to see a completed, handcrafted Maple Island log home, with all of the finishing touches. In addition to tours and light hors d’oeuvres, guests can enjoy one-on-one time with Maple Island Vice President, Eric Gordon, who will be present at the event to answer questions regarding log home design.

Just minutes from Asheville, Wildberry Lodge was completed in 2002, and is the home of Ken and Glenda Cahill. The Cahill’s spent countless hours researching and planning every detail of the cabin, including camping out on the property for a year to determine the best views for the home. Located on a granite shelf at 2700 feet, Wildberry Lodge features custom designed, handcrafted bay windows, five generously appointed guest rooms with private balconies, a distinctive, oversized stone fireplace and breathtaking views of the valley and mountain sunsets.
