| Design by Location What's it take to build on a mountaintop? How about in the desert or at water's edge? Experts set the scene for perfect log home design, no matter what terrain you choose... You may have the perfect log home in mind, but is it the ideal fit for your region of choice? A lake-home design may not work if you’re planning to live in the mountains. Likewise a model designed for the desert may not be appropriate if you’re in a Midwest state of mind. We recently asked log home industry experts to weigh in with their recommendations on everything from design to building materials, keeping in mind the particulars of each locale. What about the woods? We have a log home on 5 heavily wooded acres in Stone Mountain, Georgia and the location is perfect. You would never know that we are only minutes away from a major metropolitan city, Atlanta. Everyone from repairman to out of town relatives, is instantly enamored with our inviting and relaxing environment.
