Beautiful Backyard
This log home nestles in the woods for a truly back to nature experience. The no-fuss landscape allows it to blend into the beauty of its surroundings.

A Safari-Inspired Great Room
The great room's moose head—a trophy from one of the Dionnes' hunting trips—proved a bit tricky to mount above the fireplace. A makeshift pulley system was necessary to hoist the 55-inch-wide, 150-pound memento in place.

One of Lori's favorite features in the house is the balcony that overlooks the great room and serves as a walkway between the two upstairs bedrooms.

Campy Dining Room
The Dionnes' dining room looks out over the back yard, allowing the couple to spy on feeding wildlife as they enjoy their own meals.

The Guest Room
A double-wide dormer adds just enough square footage (and natural light) to the guest room for a chest of drawers and rocker. The angler theme gives the neutral palette a kick.

Kitchen in the Log Home
The Dionnes had originally envisioned an island in their kitchen, but the space was too small. The bar provides the perfect compromise, while maple cabinets add to the home's rustic feel.

Kurt and Lori Dionne's home away from home provides a pictorial tour of a lovely Georgia log home. The exterior shot is breath taking. The interior design and furnishings have a touch of elegance while holding to the natural theme of woodsy outdoor living and indicate well thought out planning and purpose. Enjoyed this picture gallery!

This lovely home belongs to my sister Lori and brother-in-law Kurt. I am so proud of the hard work they have put into this home and how beautiful it looks. They deserve to be noticied!
Lot's of Love to both of them, Shelly

Wow, what a gorgeous log home! My husband and I are building a log home in the mountains of California. The interior furnishings are elegant but fit in well with the natural log home feel and gives us great ideas for our own home. I was wondering where the four tree pictures on the balcony were purchased? They would make a great addition to our log home. Thank you and I really enjoyed viewing the pictures.

I am building a very Similar log home in Virginia. Can you tell me the paint color on the walls in the foyer and kitchen?

By Kurt & Lori Dionne on Nov 19, 2008
To answer the questions from Adrienne & Christine- Thanks for the great compliments. The canvas tree paintings were from www.lindaanderson.com, item #43-6677. I purchased them in July of 2006 so I'm not sure if they still carry them. Good luck with your California home! To Christine- the paint in the kitchen is Sherwin Williams Eclipse 6166. It's the same color shown in the foyer. The color sample looks very dark, but it turns out beautifully on the walls. LORI
