The great room is one of Sandra Pitcock's favorite rooms in the home. "I love the living room," she says. "It's where we spend most of our time." She chose handsome leather furniture with classic nail head accents and rolled arms from the Rowley Creek Collection at Ashley Furniture. The huge elk antler chandelier is a focal point of the room.

The Pitcocks wanted the home's design to include a large, inviting master bedroom. The 18-by-20-foot bedroom provides access to the enchanting wraparound porch. Tim, who prefers traditional country decor, chose the attractive wood bedroom suite.

The master bath features white-painted birch wood cabinets and a gleaming white tub, which help create a serene atmosphere. However, Sandra now feels that the bathroom is a bit too small: "If I had to do it again I would make it bigger," she says.

Sandra enjoys spending time with her family on the elevated wraparound porch. "I love going out in the mornings and watching the birds," she says. The back porch overlooks the pool and has a fantastic view of the lake.

Whitewashed birch wood cabinets lighten the wood tones in the kitchen. The island, featuring a granite top and stone on the base, replicates the one found in Walnut Ridge's log home model. "We loved the way it looked in the model," says Sandra. Mike Miller of Walnut Ridge Log Homes says a lot of people want to incorporate the island into their layout.

The Pitcocks have seven children and seven grandkids between them, and the 20-by-48-foot pool is a favorite hangout when they visit. "We wanted something large enough to play volleyball with the kids," says Sandra. A gazebo nearby provides an area to relax after swimming.
