A naturalistic log design that seems to have been in its environment all along

Why We Love It

There are certain homes that make us sit up and take notice. Sometimes, the reasons are not quite clear. But with this log beauty, it’s the meticulous attention to the design. Thanks to a position tucked into the treeline, natural stone foundation and tree-trunk posts, the structure seems to grow right out of the ground, as if it was meant to be there all along.

Family Room

The great room in this home certainly is well, great, but well devised furniture groupings around the hearth and bar couldn't be any cozier.

Cedar meets Eastern white pine at this post-and beam intersection.

Great Room - Overview

An aerial view of the great room shows off the full effect of the towering cypress trunks that makes this one truly unique home.

  1. I,too, am in awe of these log homes. I would love to build one for my wife of 31 years. Where does one start and then go from there? Are there contractors that solely work on log homes? Any come with your recommendation? thanks. kerry
