Log home master bedroom
The adornments in the master bedroom are a tribute to Marsa's heritage. "My grandfather immigrated here from Scotland, so I love all things Scottish," she says of the Stewart plaid distributed throughout the space. In fact, the reds enhance the Christmas theme Marsa keeps up year-round.

Log home great room
Surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows, the height of the engineered-stone fireplace makes the great room's grand statement. Contractor Brad Lindley used a tree removed from the yard during the building process to construct the mantel.

Log home bathroom
The upstairs guest bathroom showcases a French Country design. A claw-foot tub features a Porcher rain showerhead and chrome knobs labeled "hot" and "cold" in French. The adjacent iron baker's rack displays towels and knick-knacks. Black and white porcelain tile with a gray accent ties the room together.

Log home foyer
An arched entryway leads guests into the main living spaces in the home.

Log home basement
Lyle was allowed design input on one room, which he incorporated into a Coca-Cola-themed room in the basement. The brand-spattered space includes a train, a 1942 soda machine, a two-person bar, dishes and an antique phone baring the classic logo. A gas fireplace framed by engineered stone anchors the room.

Log home porch
Protected by large overhangs, the rafters on the Lansdells' front porch feature built-in speakers for year-round enjoyment. Lyle's only regret about the space? Not installing heaters. But that still hasn't deterred the Lansdells from enjoying the porch. "Even in the winter, we'll be out there in our rocking chairs, wearing our parkas," Lyle states.

Log home kitchen
The old cabin featured red kitchen cabinets, which Marsa reincorporated in the new home, much to the dismay of contractor and painter. Once finished with a black wash, however, the red alder cabinets proved to be aesthetically pleasing—so much so that the painter "has since done several kitchens like that," notes Marsa.
