Seasonal home decor doesn’t have to be kitschy to create the right ambience. Oftentimes, it’s really the colors you select that will evoke a certain sentiment or festive aesthetic rather than any over-the-top design theme.
To help you select a proper palette to update your cabin for fall, we asked Mary Lawlor, manager of color marketing at Kelly-Moore Paints (kellymoore.com), for her top seasonal colors from the company’s ColorStudio Collection, ranging from traditional rich browns to on-trend chartreuse hues.
Maui Mai Tai: “This color has energy,” she explains of the subdued pumpkin-colored shade. “It typifies the fall colors with the changes around us — such as the way the leaves change colors during this time of year.”
Energized: “This color touches on the all-important trend of nature,” she notes, referring to this year’s emphasis on greens. “It works beautifully as a pop to help revitalize us during a time when there will be fewer daylight hours. It’s just a fun color.”
