By any standard of green, the home itself should be Energy Star rated, not just appliances and lighting. LEED for Homes mandates ES and it is the preferred way to meet the energy section of the NAHB Green Standards. The issue is that the majority of log home packages can not meet the required blower door test or if they do at construction, will fail soon after. If you intend to build a true "green" log home, in narrows your options quite a bit and you need to be prepared to upgrade you basement and ceiling insulation quite a bit.
