Custom Log Homes Inc. is well known for the quality and uniqueness of the handcrafted log structures it has produced. Since 1974, Custom Log Homes has built more than 2,500 log projects, including log lodges, large executive retreats and primary residential homes.
Custom builds log homes using only full-length, hand-peeled, dead standing lodgepole pine and spruce logs, eliminating the need for mid-wall splices inherent with machined logs. Experienced craftsmen accurately scribe and notch each log by hand for a quality fit. All homes are pre-constructed at the log yard in Stevensville, Montana to ensure rapid, trouble-free assembly upon final delivery to the home site.
The log manufacturing yard in Stevensville includes 20,000 square feet of indoor truss shops where we fabricate log trusses and assemblies for the homes we construct. Working in a controlled environment ensures quality log joinery and protects against weathering.
In recent years, this facility has been used to produce log components for log frame buildings similar in nature to timber frame structures. Several of those log homes have been featured in national magazines and they may be the alternative log style you are looking for.
