Since 1976, Centennial Log Homes has specialized in handcrafted log houses constructed of high-mountain, winter-harvested Engelmann spruce logs.
Engelmann spruce is a premier house-building log, with few pitch pockets and limited spiral. It is very white and fine-grained. The average log diameter is between 12 and 14 inches, with larger diameters sometimes available.
With log lengths up to 50 feet, there are no visible butt joints. Our handcrafted homes are Scandinavian full scribe with double V-notch corners for strength. All the logs in our homes are graded according to Timber Products Inspection standards, and our logs are air dried to a moisture content of 19 percent at time of shipment.
The lateral grooves and corner notches of each home are insulated with fiberglass insulation. All log butts are sanded, curled and chamfered. Through-bolts and steel pins are included as required for building integrity. Each log package is completely pre-cut to fit before the log package is shipped to the home owner’s building site. And with all our log homes, we include the services of our Master Logsmith to direct the reassembly of the log package at your home site.
While Centennial Log Homes offers many standard plans, ranging from 320-square-foot cabins to over 5,000-square-foot luxury homes and lodges, nearly 100 percent of the houses produced are either custom plans or customized versions of stock plans. Let our in-house design team work with you to create the log home of your dreams.
