(B) All horizontal and vertical log joints are double-air-and-moisture sealed utilizing ButyLog. This system creates an air-tight, permanent seal without need for caulk or chink. (C) Log courses and corner joints are secured with Assy fasteners. (D) Cedar window and door bucks with aluminum T-channel allows for all movement, both expansion and contraction. Why Cedar? Cedar has less checking, settling and shrinking than common pine and spruce and has one and a half times the insulation value of pine, spruce and other white wood. Cedar is naturally resistant to insects, rot and decay. No chemicals or pesticides needed. Cedar weighs two thirds of pine, one half of oak or cypress, therefore construction is easier and faster. Cedar LogSystems offers cedar logs at prices competitive with pine, spruce and other white woods. Volume purchasing, mill-direct sales and no dealer network add up to lower net pricing. The basic package includes: 10-inch pre-cut cedar logs (also available for upper level in most plans), log siding, seal and fastening systems, and Eagle windows and doors (windows and doors are low-E, double-pane aluminum-clad wood in a choice of 50 colors). Design work, construction blueprints and twenty hour onsite technical assistance are also included. Cedar LogSystems also offers onsite evaluation, consultation and design services. The fee for this onsite service is 100% applicable toward your log home purchase.
