Camp Dancing Bear does just that: It dances. The flow of the design tiptoes across the front porch, leaps into the living room, pirouettes through the dining area and the kitchen, and sashays into the sunroom.
Of all our winners, it’s one of the more closed-off plans, in the sense that it actually uses walls to delineate space. The result isn’t claustrophobic, though, just cozy. And there are so many golden nuggets here: The dining-room turret, enclosed mudroom off the foyer (how come we never thought of that?) and the bump-out bunk bed on the second level all prove that a simple rectangle can be downright extraordinary.
