Best Log Home Designs, Floorplans of the Year, Announced by Log Home Living
Log Home Living announces the results of it’s 10th Annual Floorplan Design Contest, the largest and most prestigious floorplan competition in the industry, drawing home designs from log home companies across North America.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Chantilly, VA: Log Home Living magazine’s April 2008 issue unveils the best log home designs of the year, with more than a few surprises, in it’s 10th Annual Log Home Living Floorplan Design contest. The contest has greatly influenced trends in rustic design over the past decade, with readers and the design community embracing the ideas conveyed by the winning entries.
PrecisionCraft Log & Timber Homes and Custom Log Homes were judged the top designs in their categories (less and 2,500 square feet and more than 2,500 square feet, respectively). Overall, 10 designs were crowned, with their floorplans and photo renderings revealed in the issue and on LogHome.com.
“We’re truly experiencing a golden age of rustic-home design,” said Michael McCarthy, editor-in-chief of Log Home Living. “While conventional housing design has not been terribly innovative over the past several years, it’s just the opposite in the rustic-home architecture. We’re seeing natural elements, such as stone and timber, incorporated into earth-friendly designs that pack a powerful aesthetic punch. Open designs, outstanding outdoor-indoor living spaces, bedrooms that open to deck space, and functional, stylish kitchens are hallmarks of the winning designs.”
Other Floorplan Design Winners: Awards also went to The Log Connection, Streamline Design, Pioneer Log Systems, Tennessee Log Homes, Yellowstone Log Homes, Strongwood Log Homes, and Alpine Log Homes.
