SOUTHLAND LOG HOMES INTRODUCES 30 NEW HOME DESIGNS
Irmo, South Carolina : , the largest and most established log home company in the US, has announced the introduction of 30 new home designs, a feat never accomplished in the log homes industry.
Each new design provides families with amenities and home styles that reflect what families want and need in today’s housing market.
“First, we listened to people to learn what rooms and room sizes interested them,” said George M. Miller, President of . “Then we sought experts in the conventional housing industry to provide us with their insights in to not only interior space design and planning, but also home styles.”
“What we came away with was the need for larger kitchens and master baths, master suites on the first floor, larger walk-in closets, mudrooms, and much more deck and porch spaces,” added Miller.
The new designs are presented in the new Southland Log Homes Planning Guide within three distinct categories, making choosing a design easier. The categories range from smaller, more affordable homes, to a group of mid-sized homes, to a segment of larger, estate homes.
Each new design is offered in the four Southland log profiles, including Stockade, Dovetail, Saddle Notch and Log Plank¨, all milled from kiln-dried, borate-treated yellow or white pine.
“Among our log home competitors, a lot of designs out there are similar in style and interior space plans. To compete with them and conventional homes we needed to broaden our product, be innovative and respond to what families told us they needed, “ according to Miller. “Our new designs can compete with a routine brick or siding home, particularly when you consider a solid wood log home, such as ours, is much stronger, easier and faster to build, and typically costs less than conventional homes.”
