Unique Open House at Luxurious Log Home in Petoskey, Michigan
Petoskey, Michigan: Maple Island Log Homes announces an Open House at the HGTV featured Tait residence, on historic Walloon Lake, August 25th in Petoskey, Michigan.

The home, owned by Mr. Bill Tait and family, is located on Walloon Lake at 3122 Townsend Road in . Recently featured on HGTV for their luxurious lakefront homes segment, the Tait residence is over 8,000 square feet with a custom-designed spiral log staircase, which according to Mr. Tait is, “ a killer piece of architecture.” As in every Maple Island Log Home, each log was peeled, scribed and notched by hand.
“Bill choose not to sand the logs for his home, giving it a more authentic look. He liked the fact that every log maintained its authenticity,” says Eric Gordon, Maple Island’s Vice-President. Bill Tait adds, “We painted the house dark brown. We wanted to copy old Up North and old Adirondack architecture, and most of those homes were stained dark.” Eric comments, “Homes like this are rarely available to host such an open house. No model home could convey the same lifestyle, finishing touches and amenities that are included in this home.”
Just as no two homeowners are alike, each handcrafted log home built by Maple Island is customized to the wants and dreams of each client for their log home. Clients work directly with Eric Gordon, the company’s vice president – not with dealerships or resellers – ensuring they get the log home of their dreams.
