2012 Country’s Best Cabins Design Awards

From top plans all across the country, we highlight our favorites here.

2012 Design Awards

By now, you’ve probably lived in a few different homes over the course of your lifetime, so you’ve likely figured out a number of design aspects you like as well as some you’d prefer to avoid. Maybe you’ve experienced the frustration of having your laundry room two floors away from your bedroom, or you’ve dealt with the trials of a too-cramped kitchen. And perhaps you’ve found that plenty of natural light is much more important to you than a large footprint, or you’ve discovered the joys of having a private patio right off your master bedroom.

It’s just as important to figure out the details as it is to decide on the big picture, such as how many bedrooms you’ll need, whether you want a one-level layout or multiple floors, and just how much square footage is really necessary for your lifestyle. To help you work it all out, we’ve reviewed 76 plans from top designers and highlighted our favorites in the Floor Plans & Design Guide 2012 from Country’s Best Cabins. However, with so many impressive entries submitted, we found it very difficult to only choose one winner for each category. Therefore, we’ve included additional information about the honorable mentions here.
