2009 Country's Best Log Homes Design Awards | Resources for Log Homes |
Day in and day out, we here at Country's Best Log Homes spend our time looking at beautiful log homes. Sound like a dream job? It really is. But it's also a job we take seriously, making it our priority to bring you the most inspiring homes with personalized touches, loads of curb appeal and, most important, smart designs.
Although we strive to feature the best homes in every issue of our magazine, we thought we'd pack this, our first annual Country's Best Log Homes Design Awards, with page after page of the most stellar designs the log home industry has to offer, helping you find the champion design that's perfect for you.
From more than 80 entries, our editorial team carefully examined each submission, weighed its pros and cons, and compared it to what our readers tell us they're clamoring for: smart plans with exceptional details. With so many brilliant entries, choosing the winners was a tough challenge. In the end, we not only selected a winner in each of our 10 categories, we chose 10 additional entries that we felt deserved a nod.
Enjoy!

The designs look good but has anyone ever stopped to ask if they can be built !?
The link to the runner up under 2,500 sq, ft ( http://www.loghome.com/log_home_plan_the_dearborn_by_gravitas/articles/3019) looks great but at a glance I would say most log home professionals would agree, it can not be built. (without major settling issues that is)
If you are going to print this as the winner you should have has some input on if building is possible by anyone with knowledge of log homes and how they work.
You are a professional log home magazine?
This should be a complement, not an excuse.

how do you contact streamline design ltd?
By Whitney Richardson on Jun 24, 2009
S. Hancock--I certainly understand your concern. However, part of the focus of the design awards is to provide our readers with the most creative ideas available in the log-home industry. Although the plan as a whole may offer some construction challenges, such plans also offer a great deal of features that readers may feel inclined to include in their home design and may be easier or more realistic to construct. We also would hope our readers would do the due diligence we reiterate in our magazine in terms of working with their architect and/or log provider to find the best fit both for their living needs and what the property allows to ensure the best possible structure. We certainly appreciate your input as well and will take it into consideration for our contests going forward.

Hi there.
Is it possible to order a back copy of this issue? If so, can someone inform me as to how? I'd really appreciate that.
Thank you
Sheila
